Frank Siedlik

Frank Siedlik was born on December 26, 1947, Omaha NE. His parents were Frank and Anne Siedlik, Frank and wife Diane who is here today live in Omaha.

Frank Siedlik attended grade school at St. Wenceslaus school where he graduated in 1962, he then attended Ryan high school and graduated in 1966, and went on to graduate from University Nebraska at Omaha in 1975.

Frank got his first instrument at age 7 a trumpet, in 1957 he started taking lessons at Hospe’s Music store and after taking lessons for six months the teacher told Frank’s mom to sell the horn because Frank would never learn to play, so he quit taking lessons for over a year. Frank once again started taking lessons from a private teacher Fred Elias for the next five years. Fred helped get Frank his first professional job with a polka band the Benny Ray Double “B” Orchestra in 1963.

Frank played in the Ryan High school band 1963 to 1966 and 1968 to 1970 in United states 6th Army Band then the UNO band and Jazz Band 1974 & 1975. Frank’s main instruments have always been trumpet, flugelhorn, valve trombone, and guitar. Under extreme circumstances he manages to play alto & tenor saxophones, clarinet but not extremely well. He also has played many percussion toys that are in his gig bag, along with a few flasks of various beverages.
