The 2019 Sokol Omaha Polka Hall of Fame inductee’s have finally been released. Congratulations to the below inductees:

- Gil Krajnik – Band Leader, Sax and Clarinet
- Frank Kostka Jr. – Sideman, Trumpt
- Living Category
- Mike Brecka – Band Leader/Sideman, Trumpet
- Frank Remar – Band Leader, Accordion
Congratulations to these winners and we will celebrate their induction on Sunday, September 8th at Sokol Auditorium, 13th and Martha Sts, Omaha, NE . Music will be provided by The Little Tavern Band. Doors open at 2 p.m., music begins at 3 till 5:30 p.m. Induction ceremony 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Music resumes 6:30 till 7:30 p.m. This is a FREE, open to the pubic event. Food will be available for purchase.
Congrats to the 2019 inductees. I would make a suggestion that Charlie Karasek who had the Polka Masters band in the 60’s and 70’s be considered. My uncle played drums, Rich Holgart on accordion, Ernie Kuchera Jr on Tuba. I would also recommend my father Milo Karasek. As far as I know he was the only Czech musician in the area that played the musical saw in addition to the button accordion, piano accordion, piano and singing in Czech.
