Joseph Susterka was born on August 26th, 1917.  He was a member of Sokol Omaha for 42 years, since 1941.  He was involved in Sokol activities for over 57 years: Gymnastics, Sokol Camp, Czech School, Czech Drama, Lodge #1 and Pathfinders, Called BINGO for the Sokol Gym Club (1959-1969), and served on the entertainment committee.  He served as President of Sokol Omaha from 1980 to 1981, and was also the Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary and Member of the Board of Directors for many years.  He headed the Building Maintenance from 1972 until August of 1983.  His services were greatly appreciated and are greatly missed.
